Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 18/May/2026

Wellness Recovery Center (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit wellnessrecoverycenter.com or contact us about our eating disorder and mental health treatment programs in Tustin Ranch, California.

This policy covers our website. Health information collected when you receive care from us is Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA and is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices (see Section 7).

. Introduction

This policy applies to visitors of our website, people who submit forms or call us, and people who interact with our digital ads. It does not apply to information collected by third-party websites we link to.

By using our website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

. Information We Collect

2.1. Information You Provide to Us

You may share personal information with us when you:

  • Fill out a contact form
  • Submit an insurance verification request
  • Call or text us (calls may be recorded – see Section 5)
  • Email us
  • Subscribe to communications

Depending on the form, this can include your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, insurance provider and policy details, reason for reaching out, and any information you choose to include in a message.

2.2. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information, such as:

  • IP address and approximate location (city/region level)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, time on page, referring URL, and click activity
  • Cookies and similar tracking identifiers (see Section 6)

2.3. Sensitive Personal Information

Because we are a mental health treatment provider, the simple fact that you contacted us can reveal information about a health condition. California law treats this as Sensitive Personal Information. We handle it accordingly and limit its use as described in Section 3 and Section 8.

We do not ask you to enter Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or government IDs through our website forms.

. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and connect you with our admissions team
  • Verify insurance benefits when you request it
  • Schedule consultations, assessments, and admissions
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website
  • Measure the performance of our content and outreach
  • Comply with legal, accreditation, and regulatory obligations
  • Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our site

We do not use website information to make automated decisions about your care.

. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as needed to operate our services and as permitted by law:

  • Service providers that help us run our website, hosting, forms, email, call tracking, scheduling, and analytics – under written agreements that limit their use of your information.
  • Insurance carriers, when you ask us to verify your benefits.
  • Affiliated treatment professionals involved in your admission or care, with appropriate consent or as permitted by law.
  • Legal and safety purposes, such as responding to lawful requests, protecting our rights, or preventing harm.
  • In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger or sale, subject to applicable privacy laws.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some online advertising and analytics tools may qualify as “sharing” or “sale” under California law. See Section 8 for how to opt out.

. Online Tracking Technologies & Third-Party Analytics

Our website uses tools that may transmit information about your visit to third parties:

  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics – measure site usage and content performance.
  • CallRail – assigns phone numbers and records or transcribes calls so we can measure marketing performance and improve service quality. By calling a number on our site, you consent to recording, monitoring, and transcription. If you do not want your call recorded, please tell us at the start of the call or contact us in writing through our Contact Us page.
  • Advertising and remarketing pixels, if active, may share limited information about your visit with advertising platforms to help us reach people who may benefit from our services.

We are aware of guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on the use of online tracking technologies by HIPAA-covered entities. We have reviewed the trackers on our site and configured them to limit the collection of information that could identify a specific individual’s health condition. We do not knowingly transmit Protected Health Information to advertising vendors without authorization.

. Cookies and Your Choices

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies – required for the site to function.
  • Performance cookies – help us understand how visitors use the site.
  • Functional cookies – remember your preferences.
  • Advertising cookies – measure ad performance and reach relevant audiences.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

. Protected Health Information & HIPAA

If you become a patient, the health information we collect to provide care is Protected Health Information (PHI) under the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and, for California residents, the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA).

PHI is not governed by this website’s Privacy Policy. It is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, in print upon request. The Notice describes how we may use and disclose your PHI and your rights regarding that information.

If you submit health-related details through a website form (for example, on an insurance verification request), we treat that information with care and route it to our clinical and admissions teams under the same protections we apply to patient information.

. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA & CMIA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding personal information we collect through our website:

  • Right to Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share.
  • Right to Delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • Right to Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt Out of the Sale or Sharing of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information to what is necessary to provide the services you requested.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

How to submit a request:

We will verify your identity before responding, typically by matching information you provide against information we already hold. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission and proof of identity.

“Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”: To opt out of sharing for advertising, use the link labeled Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information in the footer of our website, or enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.

Health information used to provide treatment is also protected under CMIA, which limits disclosure of medical information without your written authorization, except as allowed by law.

. Privacy Rights for Residents of Other U.S. States

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws – including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others – may have rights similar to those described in Section 8, such as the right to access, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 15. We will respond as required by your state’s law.

. Children’s Privacy

Eating disorders and mental health conditions often affect minors. We take that seriously.

Our website is intended for adults age 18 and older, including parents and guardians researching care for a minor. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website, in line with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 through the site, we will delete it.

If we provide treatment to a minor, intake and clinical information about that minor is handled as PHI under HIPAA and the Notice of Privacy Practices, with appropriate parental or guardian consent as required by California law.

If you believe a child has provided information through our website, contact us at contact@wellnessrecoverycenter.com.

. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These include access controls, encryption in transit, vendor due diligence, and staff training.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive health details by unsecured email.

. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the legal or business need – for example, marketing inquiries are kept for a shorter period than records related to admissions. Medical records are retained according to California requirements for licensed treatment providers.

When we no longer need information, we securely delete or de-identify it.

. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party websites, including insurance verification partners, social media platforms, and resource pages. We do not control those sites, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the website after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
